Is there a way to get rid of that most ugliest "sound" control on the right-bottom corner I do not use it at all? I can't find from the preference?

Can I able to get my old "IM" window back?

I've got a small modification to the SL UI "skin" files that has gotten me to the point of being able to live with the changes (as much as they STILL suck compared to the old way, mostly because of the friends list)

Take a look here for a screen shot of the modified chatterbox (chat history torn off) It matches the size of my old IM window, but friends list is still attached.

Not a complete fix but helps a lot... (English only patch)

I've made a patched version of the new client which allows you to open a seperate Friends and Groups windows which I think produces a workable compromise between the old and the new interfaces.

There is also a link there to download a Windows XP (English only) binary - however the usual caveats apply (backup files first, use at your own risk, this is not officially supported etc.)

Umm.. I was trying to say... what about sound control? I was lookin' for to get rid of it.
