Today .... when about everything was down in Secondlife I deleted several objects from my land. They appeared to be gone... however their prims still show up in the objects tab if i look at 'About land'.
it says... primitives on this parcel 30
owned by owner: 0
owned by others : 0
selected/sat upon : 30
i cant make them show or return. Any suggestions?

Its a bug introduced in 1.16 - and which has occured so often in the last week in the forums that I personally think it deserves a blog entry (and have said as much).
It is in jira, and reportedly being worked on.
The simplest solution is to request a sim restart.

restarts dont work. Tried a cople of time on my islands, i have 4, and i found 15000 prims ghost on my 4 islands, i call them ghost, because they are there and then again not there.

Does this problem have any relation to the missing assets problem acknowledged in the blog, and if so is there any way to get the missing items back?
I lost some quite expensive stuff and I wouldn't be happy if it is just gone, but if I get the owner of the land to get his sim restarted will my objects come back?

In my case a sim restart did work. Ghost prims are gone and there are no prims select/sat upon anymore. But still I am a bit scared to go building tonight again. Really hope that the prob is solved by the asset server repair.

Its just not safe to build or even rez anything right now making SL totally useless from a content creation point of view.
Some acknowledgement that LL are dealing with this MAJOR bug would be nice...its got to be one of the worst ever and not a single mention of it as usual LL score 0/10 for customer relations how long can they carry on like this?
I fully understand how amazing the SL client is and that they are pioneering but please sort it out on the customer relations side and stop denying the uncountable amount of bugs that occur daily.
Nothing gets fixed as far as i can tell just buried deeper so it occurs less for a while then rears its ugly head again.
Each update should include a list of what bugs LL are adding this time as well as what they are attempting to fix...
