UPDATE: With the help of the lovely Brent Linden all has been fixed!
Here is my "I Don't Know if it is a Bug...Bug." I appear to be unable to see anything that has transparencies. This started maybe 3 or 4 versions ago. In the 1st photo below I am wearing a prim hair attachment and a prim cube on either hand with one being transparent. As you can see they are not viewable to me. Also on my end the bling that I am wearing does not "bling" and I cannot see any burst effects.
During the mini-stress test yesterday I was able to see the lights in the WA used for a night club effect until I left the WA and went to the sandbox. When I returned I could no longer see them while everyone else still could.
Previously people told me they could see my prim hair and bling, etc, until this morning when another avie took a snap to confirm they he could not see my hair, but was able to see the box on my hand, and my bling blinging.
In the second photo you can see me right clicking to indicate that indeed the hair IS on my head.
I have a Nvidia GeForce 6600 for PCI-Express and updated my drivers as instructed to version 78.01.

Ok i've done some digging 2903 is the value of GL_COLOR_MATERIAL (used in conjunction with glColorMaterial). It was added in OpenGL 1.0 (read: it's from the dark ages).
It's defined in the EnableCap section of gl.h.

Ok i've figured out the cause.
Bump mapping is hard on graphics cards so there is a draw distance on them. Now some of us have old graphics cards or don't like the bump mapping. So we set the value to 0 which has the effect of disabling bump mapping. Setting it to zero causes this problem.

i reprod strifes find on a good 6800gt, so setting the bump draw distance to 1 should fix it for now
