OMG !!
'til yesterday, all working fine... MY PC with a 9800 ATI Radeon works fine, faster with all graphics setting on maximum ! Totally satisfied ! Then I upgraded my client yesterday.
NO longer SL anymore !!! Less that a minute SL Crash ! I'm unable to stay connected for more then 1 minute anymore !!!
Ok, maybe my machine ? All right.Today at Lan House I updated a machine with the new client.Same behaviour of my house ! When I check the video-card of this computer...Guesss !!! A Radeon 9600 !!!
Now I'm here on this forum and I found a topic with someone that had the same behavio on the station using a differente radeon card. But the others users on thread had the same problem using others models of radeon card !!!
So ????? SL Is no longer compatible with ATI cards ????? May should I buy another card just for play SL ??? But yesterday my graphic card works wonder fine ! With all setting on maximum !!!!
And now ??????

Assuming you were using the 'normal' client yesterday, and now you are using the updated 'normal' client today and are having issues, the major changes to the client viewer has been in the graphics pipelines. With the previous client you were potentially not making your graphics card work as hard as it would now, on the basis that all those 'eye candy' items that your graphics card setting would 'let application decide' were not being overly used, now with the new rendering graphics pipelines, they probably are.

Sorry, I may have confused my reply with terminology..
'Normal Client Viewer'= Not FirstLook.
Before you connect to the game, click preferences and turn down, much of the eye candy settings. Once in game, turn them up one at a time and monitor your fps etc.
