Ok, this is insane.

Just taking two sims that I'm heavily involved in, Seacliff and Abbotts.

In Abbotts: No vehicle test rezzor or holo vendor works: Grey goo fence is calling it a recursive error. These things rez ONE item, consisting of at most 30 prims, ONLY WHEN CLICKED. They do it ONCE. And theres a coded-in delay between rezes.

In Seacliff: A flying bird rezzer is giving the recursive error. This thing rezzed one bird at a time, and it only rezzes a new one if it stops hearing from the existing one. It in no way spam-rezzes them. Further, every tile of "splash" type water has the "splash" partical emitter _deleted_ from the inventory. Every single tile of it. So, too, is the rezzed object simply DELETED (Read, You, Lindens, just broke an item that cost a lot of money) from some firefly emmiters.

At the Shelter, our Line Dancer, all our elevators, game show rezzers, and the automated Balloon Tour are all broken - hitting the Grey Goo Fence immediately upon use.

However, it appears that Linden is aware of the situation, and is at work on a fix. While its little solice while the issue is going on, it looks like there might be light at the end of the tunnel.

Following up, there may be some issues with the Grey Goo Fence, which causes it to break content that uses llRezObject. This is a known issue and we're currently in the process of figuring out a work around.

It killed my slide show picture frames. They rez a temp on rez object.

This is going to break a whole lot of content.

everything that uses script to rez even temp on rez gets a
"grey goo fence: rapid or recursive rez"

Another half arsed solution,
llRezObject = scaryaction stop it! cause it might be another grid attack
how long will this take to fix ?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that I was seeing auto-rezzers working in Caledon last night, only a few hours before the first post here. Perhaps it's restricted to the mainland.

But not everything! I made some tiki torches recently that use LLRezObject to rez a flame above the torch when lit. I checked them and they are fine. No missing parts, and they all work. My torch only rezzes one copy of the flame object when touched, so maybe it didn't meet some 'dangerous code' check that the Lindens tried to use.

It's also killed all the wildlife and plants on Svarga. Nothing that rezzes automatically is rezzing.

Anyone want an island ? I don't anymore. It's not worth the effort. What the **** is the point in investing time and money on a system that consistently fails. I've spent months experiencing SL bugs going from bad to worse and the straw really has broken the camels back now :(

Is a new client going to somehow undelete thousands and thousands of objects across the entire grid, SuezanneC?

I don't really care about the grey goo fence, I'm confident LL will fix that eventually. Its the other that p****s me off far more.

The "permissions refactoring" seems to have been strange, too.

When I logged in last night, four copies of an item I created (but that were in my trash folder) had gone no-copy no-modify. Fortunately my working copy was ok, but it's still strange.

I did some testing last night.
On a private sim there seems to be much less restriction, maybe none. The same object on mainland got the exception.
