Well, now SL is telling me I need to upgrade to the new required 1.18.4.0 version. Though why this didn't appear with the rolling restart yesterday, I have no clue. I also have no clue where I'm supposed to *GET* this new *required* version - I'm on Linux, so the "Download Now" option doesn't work... http://get.secondlife.com pulls the 1.18.3.5 tarball... The Downloads page is showing 1.18.3.5 for Win and Mac, and the Linux Alpha page - the same. Oooops? Perhaps flipping the switch to require the new version should be the *LAST* step on the "require a new version" checklist? *AFTER* steps 23) Upload new version to the S3 website 24) Verify that S3 actually has all of the new files and 25) Change webpages to point to the new version, including the Downloads page and get.secondlife.com

Edit your shortcut for SL and remove all the parameters except the settings file location and restart, it'll ignore that SNAFU. Same thing happened to me.

From: TaraLi Jie Well, now SL is telling me I need to upgrade to the new required 1.18.4.0 version. Though why this didn't appear with the rolling restart yesterday, I have no clue. You are probably still running the pre-release version 1.18.3.5 which was later replaced by the identical official client 1.18.3? The pre-release client asks you to upgrade to the latest pre-release 1.18.4.0. The 'official' client doesn't do that. Meni.
