With this update, torus shapes all over have reverted to flat sphere discs. Help we're talking weeks of repair. Please help
Edit: Wow.. Allow me to clarify: They are and are not torus, dependant on which log in. Very strange, but they appear in varying stages of shape with each crash. (Yes, update, yes cleared cache, yes newest graphics card, plenty of memory. Yes, uninstall reinstall)

Screen shots? And the jira might be a better place to report this bug.

This Needs To Be Fixed Now!!!
05-23-2007 16:10
What the FUCK! This is true! All my furniture is messed up. Okay this is what happens.
Toruses with a hole size of X 1.00 and Y 0.50 return to flat spheres when approached from up close. With any other values they are fine.
This MUST be fixed now!!!

I don't know.. if it's related.. if I make a default torus, change it into a sculpt prim, then change it into a torus again, it becomes 0.05 0.50 for the hole size.
And.. Okay, I was going to say something about my already made prims, but YES, I just rezzed a few things I had with some toruses, and the torus with 1.0,0.50 for the hole sizes look far too small. At 0.95,0.5 it looks right except for, of course, that 0.05 difference I set. I haven't touched the sculpt/prim type settings on these whatsoever.

Update: I logged in and out a few times and the prob was gone. I can only hope that my customers do the same or don't have the prob at all. Weird stuff this.

Problem Is Real For Sculptie Builders!
05-23-2007 17:16
Another update.
I managed to determine the problem. The borked torus occurs when you make a SCULPTED PRIM. After that all toruses are deformed to small flat rounded spheres. When you log out and in again the problem is gone, all toruses look good again. BUT, when you make another sculpted prim the prob is immediately back again in the same login.
It really needs a fix bad!!! Good news is that most residents don't make sculpties... *sigh*
By the way: it also happens when you edit an already made sculpted prim.

First: Thank you, Paulo, for getting in touch with me Inworld, and letting me know I"m not insane. Second: I can't use sculpties at all without messing up Torus. I have filed a bug report, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
It's a great idea, I don't want to lose out on the inovations. I also don't want angry customers screaming at me. lol. I'll wait. It should be interesting to see how this works out.

well that is weird.... if use use a script to get the params of a scuplt it returns the params of a torus. So a torus thinks it is a sculpt or a Sculpt thinks it is torus. either way it is messed up. needs fixing

I have filed an issue on Jira, but it is STILL unassigned. For me that's unbelievable, because everyone who gets in contact (create/edit) with sculpted prims will see this bug loud and clear. Issue on Jira, please vote: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-827There is a workaround, but it's much hand work to adjust everything. I did it anyhow. Okay, remember that it ONLY happens with toruses with a hole size of X 1.00 and Y 0.50. Only that exact combination. If you change one of these values you'll be fine. I changed for some toruses the X value to 0.99 and for other toruses the Y value to 0.49, depending on the shape and position of the prim. One of these changes will do. Good luck to you all!
