llStopAnimation does not stop the animation

Sometimes when llStopAnimation is used to stop a looped animation, that animation continues to play on the client. If I nudge the avatar using the arrow keys, then the animation goes away. My workaround is to add a "llStartAnimation( "stand" );" after the llStopAnimation but this is an inelegant solution to be sure. And one that I'm afraid might add other problems in the future.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Yes, with the same work-around. My guess is, an AV cannot have no animation at all, so when you make it animation-less it persists in most recent state until action like movement or sometimes AO triggers a new animation... be it walk, stand or whatever o.O;

I think it's due to a bug where you've stopped all active animations and it doesn't know what to do, so instead of reverting to a study of hte hhuman form it plays the last known animation until a new one starts.

I wouldn't say that's a bug, it seems perfectly fine to assume the last known animation if there are no others.
So telling the avatar to start playing "stand" again, or forcing it to move with a tiny push will start it doing what it should be doing.
