Group settings behaviour incorrect?

Currently on my own land I've set the group to my group. In that group I have a role which is set to "Always allow landmark" and "Always allow 'Set Home to Here'".

However, whenever someone with that role tries to create a landmark, or set my land to their home location, it tells them they must own the land.

This is wrong behaviour as when I owned land before, I had the same set-up (I owned the land, and I had a group set, the land was not deeded to group), and any member of that group could set it as their home location. This was fine as that's what I wanted.
However it now seems that I can't do that without deeding the land to the group, which seems completely wrong to me, as the whole point of a setting a on land is to say "Here you go group A, you have rights to do X, Y and Z on my land".

I've bug reported this, as it is changed behaviour and seems completely wrong to me.

Hello!

I have the same bugs. If i put the tick in receiving messages of the group, then are after saving some other ticks on too. And still no group notes for the members. But they can invite in group, delete alot and change alot. lol Weird. :-) Because i just put the tick in receiving messages....

Take care

I have never seen this work with land only set to group. It has always had to have been deeded to the group.

Not before the groups system was updated; Furnation used to allow anyone to set their home location to any Furnation land using the old groups behaviour. They might still have this if land is deeded to group, but it never used to require deeding to work.
I've never been able to test this until now because I could never get any bloody land to test with on the beta/preview grid and I only just got my own land again recently on the mainland.
But it is definitely incorrect behaviour from when I owned land before.

Well, OK, but the original question was in the context of the new groups system, so let me clarify:

I have never been able to give those abilities to a role and have it work on land not deeded to a group. There are other rights with the same restriction... about all setting to group seems to give you now is access control.

Given all the things that got initially broken under the new group system, and how long it took to get them fixed, I can see why this one slipped through the cracks. You are right to bug-report it, but I don't think they'll change it... the new group system means there need be no risk from deeding land to a group you own. And the group tier bonus is a nice side-benefit.

There are some scripting issues... no-transfer objects can't be deeded to group so they can't be given group rights or tell what land they're over... but I'd rather they fixed those issues directly. I like the tier bonus. :)

Okay, this is even incorrect behaviour for the new system (going by the assumption they had wanted to change it for some reason) as the description for "Allow 'Set Home to Here'" in the abilities tab reads as follows:

From: someone
Members in a Role with this Ability can use World menu > Set Home to Here on a group parcel (either land set or deeded to this group).

I didn't say it was correct as documented, just that it's consistent.

In any case:
From: release notes
Bug fixes:

* Fixed group members cannot set home when land is Set to group but not deeded
I assume this is in beta only so far, but I don't mind being proven wrong when I'm being pessimistic.

That's awesome news :)
At the end of the day, a bug was fixed and that's what matters :D
