On the Buy L$ page here on this site, US$1 will get you L$186 but US$10 will get you L$2580 and US$100 will get you L$26520.
I don't follow this stuff very much - hedgehogs lead a simple existance - but this sounds about right to me. Is this a big change from the norm? _____________________

I don't follow this stuff very much - hedgehogs lead a simple existance - but this sounds about right to me. Is this a big change from the norm? In the past it was pretty consitant, and the $1 test would come up say $266, but perhaps your right. |

If you want to know the current exchange rate, use: https://secondlife.com/currency/buy.php
What you see in the in-world "Buy L$" dialog will never be the proper exchange rate (except for large amounts) because it already applies the 30 cent charge per LindeX buy. $1 - 30 cents = 70 cent L$ 266 / $1 means you get L$186 for 70 cents. |

For a minute, I was gonna whine that the exchange rates are not at that page.. Then I discovered this: http://www.secondlife.com/account/currency_settings.php .
If you have never gone to that page and set the interface to "Advanced" (or if you've explicitly set it to "Basic"  the Buy L$ page won't display the exchange rates._____________________

Back in the old days 288/1 would have been cheap, that was back when the standard exchange rate was 330-340/1

But people in-world don't raise prices based on the exchange rate... What costs L$1000 today will likely cost L$1000 next week, regardless of how much US$ it takes to get L$1000. _____________________
