When buying anything, or as a business person, when refunding lindens, do not pay any attention to the message "action timed out".
I am down over 10,000 Lindens at the moment that are a result of attempting to refund money to a customer who paid into my vendor several times and recieved no product.
Im also Im sorry to say down a coupe of thousand lindens attempting to pay back a very rude individual who rezzed a "do not buy from this person" sign in front of my store when the buys she tried to make didnt go through because of network issues in sl. Well she has been paid back several times over due to the transaction timing out message (which went through anyway). Any way she's been banned from my land, dont need those types around anyway.
I also dont expect the lindens to make this right either, however, when this crap is going on, a message to folks as they log in would really help, dont ya think?
A little hacked off I am over this. Worst thing thats happened so far.

Next time - tell the player:
According to my transaction log that Secondlife generates - you paid X-amount-of-L$ three time. Here is the item you tried to buy and here is a refund of the rest of your L$. Very sorry this happened.
Give them the item they tried to buy and there extra spent trying to buy it. You have that transaction history as your proof. If they put up a sign like you stated - I believe thats a form of abuse and can be reported. Also - make objects return to owner after 1 minute so if a sign goes up on ur land while your away - it will poof.

I suppose this would be a bad place to advertise a script that effectively gets around auto-return? >..>
Seriously though, I did write one, but it's not for aquisition by any party.
Sorry to hear someone was a jackass.

Thats all well and good, but when you get the massage: "transaction timed out", and no message that you paid so and so, that generally means it didnt go through. However, when you log off, then log back on, it seems that the transactions did in fact go through. It will come out in the wash, its just the frustration and that clown rezzing that sign in front of my store that really ticked me off. Dosent take much some days

Ok, Mannie's Classic Yacht Sales is closed until the Lindens get this squared away. I've put big prim signs over all my vendors and stores to try and keep ppl from buying stuff. I cant TP, I can't IM, search is broke, friends list is not working, I cant drop stuff into anyones profile, I am basicly screwed until the lindens get funadama working. I cant even walk or fly out of the sim without lagging off world. This has been like this since I first logged in at 2:30 this am.
Definetly my worst day of sl in a year and a half.

Ok, back up, but Im still not at all happy with how things worked out: the sim is back online, seems it just needed a simple restart. Now after more than two days of attempted communications with LL, using every means available that they provide, I could get no help from the staff.
Yet Val, in the resident answer area gives me a hint on how to escape from my sim, and I contact guy linden in world, he restarts the sim, wella! everything back to normal.
Anyone else see anything wrong with how this worked out?
Anyone from Linden Labs paying attention here?

Sorry to hear someone was a jackass. Unfortunately it's extremely easy, but if you block non-group object creation, entering and even scripts then that'll shut that one up too
