problem with skin and clothing

Hello,

my friend have a big problem with his skin and his pants. Many skins are pink and all short pants are shown as long pants, without pants with alpha tex, also self-buildet pants shows wrong. Other people can see the pants and the skin a short time correct but after a few minutes or seconds show it again wrong if he quit the apperance menue or wear new thinks.


If we use his account on an other PC, we cant see any problems, all things work fine, only on his PC shows this things wrong. We uninstall Sl, delete program dir, delete cache location, delete ~/user/application Data/Secondlife/ dir (with the account-dir).

After reinstall SL and login looks all thinks fine, but after 5 minutes clothing and skin going wrong. We will dont reinstall Win Xp, I think, there r any files wrong (pc is virusfree), e.g. system files, directX or so ????

SL running since 6 months correct on this pc, we have seen this problem sice 14 days or so..

anybody knows this problem ?

I've noticed some weirdness with clothes lately, avatars having parts of themselves go black temporarily and the like. No idea if it's related or what could have caused it, since I never noticed with the current version until recently.

Finox, if the problem only shows on one PC then the problem is local to that PC.

You might check to see if the graphics card and its drivers are up to date.

youre right, Im sure, that is a problem of this one pc. Does the grafik card render a clothing-Object wrong and sending this wrong objekt to other pc's ?

In my simple-mindedness, i think, SL use a template to render the clothing and this template is wrong. I think, bad (old) card-driver dont distinguish between pants and jackets.

Im confused !

My avatars have had FUBARed clothes/skins for months and it's not local to one machine (it happens on three, and everyone else sees me f*ked up).

I gave up trying to fix it months ago.
