Who is it at Linden Lab that needs the orange highlights to tell where the focus is?

Other programs don't seem to use or need this. In some places it looks quite ugly.

This is far from the only peculiar aspect to the look of the interface.

Designing a program's interface to suit one employee's visual pecularities doesn't make good business sense.

Just shows you how intelligent they think we are...

in other words they don't have a very high opinion of our ability to do things without someone guiding us with pretty colors...

Dearly Darlings,

I like orange...and obviously purple...<sniffle> It did not even occur to me that people don't like working with certain colors...why could we not get to choose colors for functions? Would that be a hard thing to do?

Ever Yours,

Mrs. Showdog Tiger

Windows does, in fact hilight the currently active button for purposes of allowing only keyboard control. Programs could override it but most forms applications leave it in.

Although how this would work out in SL is another matter as I can't imagine using no mouse.

has anyone else experienced attachments failing? I tried to change boots to low prim ones (3 onlyeach boot) and they refused to rez. after telling me this the system then refused to let me try anything else I got "attachment pending" another minor quirk when I go to select a texture there set to date in inventory but alphabetically in select ..is this just settling down or a true bug? it looks like database still has issues?

I use windows XP set to Windows Classic.

It has a nice conservative, inoffensive look, rather than looking like it was designed by a blind, esthetically challenged child equipped with worn out safety scissors and a pack of fluorescent construction paper. Who was hepped up on booze and bennies.

So when windows, on my system, highlights something, it's in the context of a pleasing and functional design, not another ugliness straw on the camel's back.

That's the real problem... the keybindings they're emulating are designed for the context of using the mouse *or* using the keys, in a 2d user interface. SL is a 3d interface with continual use of both the mouse and keys.

We really need something like this:
CODE

<!-- keybindings.xml -->

<context="global">
<bind key="home">toggle_flight</>
<bind key="left_arrow">turn_left</>
<bind key="right_arrow">turn_right</>
<bind key="a" mod="alt">camera_left</>
<bind key="left_arrow" mod="alt">camera_left</>
<bind key="s" mod="alt">camera_right</>
<bind key="right_arrow" mod="alt">camera_right</>
[...]
</context>
<context="chat">
<bind class="text">self_insert</>
<bind key="left_arrow">turn_left</>
[...]
</context>
[...]

Ha, my first time teleporting after the upgrade had the same kind of attachment snaffu.

I was dawned with DarkLife accessories. I teleported to Navora, to find all my attachments had gone amiss. The most hilarious of the bunch (I should of taken a snapshot) was my sword, previously attached to my hand, was now sticking out of my crouch, WTH, lol.

I removed all my mis-arranged attachments and reattached them. They all attached to the correct locations. So far, I haven't experienced the attachments going amiss after teleporting since. Of course, I have only teleported twice since (with the attachements).

We really need something like this:

It's located in app_settings/keys.ini file, in SL client installation directory. Not as 'hip' as xml but the same functionality, pretty much.

Indeed? What is the patch to re-enable the "home" key in chat then?

It looks like this should do it:

CONVERSATION HOME NONE toggle_fly

But nope.
