I realize the best solution is to get a house. But land being what it is, and costs associated with it, it's a last resort option. In terms of the RP aspect of my ava, I prefer an apartment.

 Thoughts? Ideas? Solutions?

Chat has several limitations, this is my understanding of them:

 Shout - distance heard 40m

 Say - distance heard 20m

 Whisper - distance heard 10m

IM - private between 2 or more people

Anyone within the distance noted above will hear what is said other than if you restrict all conversation to instant message. I know that Xcite parts are configurable to change it to whisper, not sure of other "brands" none of them to my knowledge will communicate in IM.

 hope this helps

 *hugs*

 Ash

I would prefer some fashion to have *some* privacy, outside of IM's. Call me a purist, but emotes in IM's just lack "feel" to them, in an RP sense.
Ah well. Thanks for the incite.

It doesn't keep people from flying near and hearing, but it at least makes sure that people at home won't hear people in other apartments. Probably mucks up flying more. Tradeoffs. |

There's no extra dl required or purchase (unless of course you'd like to tip me for the suggestion, but a better tip might be "keep your snarky responses out of my thread, Xyr!" . if a neihbor puts a house at the same level, move yours higher or lower. i helped a freind setup a skybox on a 512m plot of land and has had no problems.

The more I think about it, the more that seems to be the best option. Thanks for your help |
