If you have a few minutes to spare please try the Preview Grid.

I am seeing a problem which appears to be terrain and objects intermittently being displayed in the wrong sim, after flying across a few sim borders.

The more folks that go and find some bugs and make some bug reports, or just crash and let the crash reporter do its thing, the greater the chance for a smooth introduction of the new version.

What I'd like to know is why this new version is being brought out in 2 days with still so many problems...

I tend to crash alot until I turn flexiprims off. As much as I hate to say it (waiting on new lighting), we need to wait and get 1.10 running perfectly smooth, and kill the current sl bugs in it before release.

I dunno. I've been on the Preview Grid & didnt have any problems. All settings maxed out too. Did I mention- I love my computer :D

However- lower end systems may experience "technical difficulties". I might just pop back in & give it another whirl & see if anythings changed. Will let ya know.

***EDIT***

OK, just gave it another try. Not bad at all. I noticed that once everything rezzed into view, if I flew my FPS would drop significantly but not that bad. If I was walking & there were a lot of buildings & stuff in my view, my FPS increased quite nicely- sometimes OFF the scale.

Preview Settings:
  1. Cache = 1000
  2. Bandwidth = 500
  3. Bump Map & Shiny = Enabled
  4. Ripple Water ON
  5. AV Vertex Program ON
  6. Bump & Cloth checked under Avatar Rendering
  7. Lighting = Nearby Local Lights
  8. Terrain Detail = High
  9. Object/Flexible/Avatar Mesh Details - MAX
  10. Max Particle Count = 256
  11. Draw Distance = 256

Places I went:

* Gibson @ 147, 41, 39
Standing: 36-40 FPS
Walking Around: 23-39 FPS

* Abbotts- 88, 23, 26
Standing: 14-17 FPS
Walking: 17-35 FPS

* Mauve - just walking around = 9-22 FPS

I noticed a frame rate drop if I went into Mouselook & looked around. This seemed to disappear if more objects were in view such as buildings.

Didnt have any trouble TP'ing anywhere, flying/walking across sim boundaries.
