Mike Mitchell, the Executive Director of the American Cancer Society's Futuring and Innovation Center wrote that "community is where people are enabled to interact with other people, and if that condition is met, personality, feelings and emotions will prevail no matter what the space."
Second Life isn't made wonderful by nifty features alone. It's the people you meet, and the positive impact that those people can have on your life. Whether someone has meant so much to you that you have traveled the globe to meet him or her in person, or even if you choose to keep your Second Life separate from the first, there is probably at least one special guy or girl who has challenged you to think in some new way.
There's no time like the present to let someone know how important he or she is to you, and to thank him or her for changing your life. You can do it here! I'll start.
Torley, you have touched my life. Within the past few months, I've been honored to get to know a side of you that few others have seen. We've had wonderful conversations and interesting debates about the nature of ourselves and the nature of society, and have shattered labels throughout the growth of our relationship. You have inspired me to be more than what I am. You've given me confidence and have taught me to be more compassionate toward others. Whether we continue to know each other and become even more inseparable into the future, or even if we eventually grow apart and move on with our separate lives as great friends sometimes do, you will remain a part of me that I shall never forget. I am who I am, in part, because of you, and I thank you. <3>
