I just wanted to say thanks Torley for all you do in keeping us updated on the situation in which yourself and the other Lindens had no control over :)

I appreciate all the work you guys do during such a frustrating time for Lindens and SL citizens!

I rather they get this situation in order, thats what needs to be done. Keeping the paying public informed is something thats done automatically.

How can a company, a professional company at that, that's getting paid by people all over the world not take safeguards from this sort of thing? You don't see this happening to Blizzard or even a company as bad as SOE.

Seems thats the flavor of the month now, the grid was "attacked". It's all we hear now.

Quit your whining... All multi-player games/sims have their issues. Nothing is perfect.

Actually no it is not. There have been recent periods of downtime where there's been complete radio silence from Anyone Linden for the first hour or two, with the predictable result of the natives getting very restless in the forums.

While you're correct that keeping residents up to date should be done automatically, it is not automated. Updates are posted by actual human beings, and I came to thank Torley for doing a good job last night. I'm glad someone else started a thread to do the same.
