Why a Fund Raiser ?

Midnite Rambler is one of my best friends in SL.
She is a wonderful, warm, intelligent, and creative person, that would do anything for anyone to help them.
In SL, she creates, and happily gives her creations away. She spends a lot of time as a Mentor teaching new residents.

But now Midnite needs our help.
Midnite is a sole parent of a 14 year old son with disabilities. She is also unemployed as work for an older woman, specially one with a child is very difficult to get in her country.
Recently, Midnite received an eviction order from the house she has been living in with her son for the last 7 years.
Because of her very low income, and high rent (she gets just on $350 per week, and pays $250 rent per week), she is struggling to raise the almost $3000 AUD she needs to be able to find a new home.
This will leave both Midnite and her son homeless.

So a few of her friends have got together and would like to give a Fund Raiser party in an effort to raise $L for her to cash out, and help toward her moving costs.

We will have a donation box and a raffle, grand prize being one of Midnite's Crypts valued at $1000L and DJ Zud will be spinning the best tunes.

Thankyou so very much to Amaterasu Cinquetti, Atrahasis Lameth and Zud Zaftig for organising this for me!!!! You three are the very best friends a gal could ever hope for.

We raffled off 3 Crypts, so congrats to the winners of them.

Over the last couple of weeks with sales of my shop stuff, and donations, a total of $100,000L was raised. This will convert to roughly $450AUD.

Whilst not nearly enough to help my son and I find a new place to live, it will certainly go a long way toward having the rent in advance needed. This combined with the help a couple of local charities have offered will give me the full amount needed for rent in advance. This still leaves me needing to find Bond, and moving/utility connection fees, etc.

The generosity and kindness shown to me by some members of the SL community, many whom have never met me before, and none of whom are well established business people in SL, is something I will never forget, and can't ever hope to repay.

It is too easy to dismiss any call for assistance (something I didn't do myself, as it is just not my nature to ask for help, ever), as just another scam/scheme, thankfully there are those that trust still. And for the cost of a few thousand $L are willing to help. To those people, you have my total and full gratitude.
