8/15 M2 to be PAPER copy

The August 15 issue of the Metaverse Messenger will be available in a paper copy as well as in its standard format. The printed copy of the paper will be available at the second annual Second Life Community Convention in San Francisco Aug. 18-21.

Paradise Post Printing, the same company that prints the Bay City Reporter, will print 20,000 copies of the paper as a broadsheet with four fully processed color pages.

The full color pages will be pages 1, 10, 11 and 20. The rest of the paper will be black and white. Ad space on the color pages include a premium 1x5 underline ad on page 1, a half page ad on page 10 (where Sim of the Week will be located), two ads which are three columns wide on Page 11 (fashion page), and a premium full page ad on page 20.

To cover the cost of printing this issue, all ads will cost the rate of $7 USD per column inch. As an advertiser, the benefits of advertising in this issue are substantial. In addition to our regular readership of over 12,000, this issue of the M2 will be circulated in the following manner:

1. Distributed to the 500 attendees of the SLCC.
   
2. As part of a campaign by the M2 to pull in more meatverse ads. This issue will be part of a packet sent out to companies, who may wish to establish a presence in SL at some point. When they do, they will need contractors, avatars enhancements, and more.
   
3. Linden Lab has agreed to place copies of this issue in the waiting room of their San Francisco headquarters, as well as distributing them at other conventions/speaking engagements they may attend. This means that your products wil be visible to many who thereafter create a Second Life account.
   

Ad space is available on a first come, first served basis. Ad space is not reserved until payment has been made. Payments must be made via Paypal to [email]savvykatt@yahoo.com[/email], or with $L; however, payment in $L must be made within 24 hours of the ad price quote. No check or credit card payments will be accepted.

How much would the smallest Black and White ad be, in either $L or $USD?

The smallest would be an ad 1 column wide and 1 inch (or 25.4 mm) in height. That ad would cost $7.

I'll point out here since Katt is too modest, Linden is too busy (and too hot over the prospect), that this is being printed in RL and will be distributed to all SLCC attendees... AND additional copies will be made by LL to distribute to people they want to impress.

I'd like the 1x5 on page one for the charity group this is for...only if it will look right. I need to make sure what ever is done looks the best so I can go up to 100 USD total. Should I just send the rest and Let Phoenix sort it out? This is very exciting!

Several people have already purchased ad space in the 8-15 issue of the M2, including Desmond Shang, Ham Rambler, Showdog Tiger,
Aimee Weber, Anshe Chung, Thor Eldritch, Jackal Ennui, and Kealiha Trudeau.

There are still spaces left, including:
Page 2, full page
Page 5, half page
Page 6, full page
Page 9, half page

Page 11 has a few spots left for color ads.

The rest of the paper doesn't have static layout, so which ads go on which pages can be more flexible. The deadline for ALL ads is Aug. 9th, as the paper will be shipped to the printer for preflight on Aug. 11th.
