My laptop has suffered a fatal parrot attack. This is not a joke (Keep your pets off your computers !)  It is still running but almost entirely blind, so I can VNC into it. Needless to say it makes SL entirely unplayable, so I'll be off the grid until the uncheap replacement hastily ordered at 2 AM arrives sometimes next week, unless there is an urgent issue in EverLite (I've added the telehub thanks to Cyn Linden's unbelievable responsiveness). I'll post currently untested but finalized scripts in Scripting tips, hopefully someone can understand and test and bug-fix them... The good news is that insurance covers this incident (ain't MY parrot). I get an almost free Powerbook.

btw. how recent is the powerbook you're running SL on?
my older 15" PB buckles under the graphics load.

Thank you for the concerns  "PegLeg Pete" is busy doing her part in mopping up the mess her fierce, huge grey parrot made of my ooooold PowerBook 12" 867... Very unscientific calculations made yesterday show that my FPS went from running SL and nothing else at 5 fps down to running SL and the VNC server at 4 fps (Powerbook side) with 0.05 fps on the other side.

wow, I thought it was unplayable on my PB which I pretty sure is an old 867 as well. You're a more patient soul than I.
