I am new around here and one thing I have searched far and wide for to no avail is a single place in SL that really demonstrates the fun possibilities that SL has to offer in terms of diverse game play (IE - sports, rides, games, etc).

In my long searching I finally came across Spittoonie Island. I go to search for it in world and what? can this be? Something so completely what I have been searching for and so touted by all cannot be found? Impossible!

As many have mentioned before Spittoonie presents itself as the PERFECT sim for current residents to introduce their friends to the full possibilities of SL and get them hooked. It was a veritable SL entertainment showcase.

As a newbie I have also noticed that Linden Labs has on occassion had contests to give away free space to those that prove their worth in builds. Well OBVIOUSLY, judging from all the posts and other information I've seen Spittoonie Island had already more than proved its value in the eyes of many of SL's residents. I for one vote that Spittoonie Island be reopened under the support of Governor Linden so that as the community continues to grow this past favorite can be cherished once again by all. Especially those like me who are upset I never got to experience it.

To all those who would like to see Governor Linden open some land for the return of Spittoonie Island vote yes on proposition 1949!

Those of you that have actually been there, please post pictures and descriptions of how much fun it was and perhaps a full listing of what all one could do there.

Kristoph, in SL like in RL things come and go. Spittoonie was great fun, but there were many other builds that were fabulous and which disappeared once their time was past. It's too bad so many were before the advent of Rez Foo.

It would be nice if residents could create a Great Builds Library, with rez-fooed builds that can be brought out occasionally, as it's too bad these things may never be seen again. However - change is part of life, and there can be no new if we don't let go of the old. It's not LL's responsibility to save these things, but it seems like a do-able thing for residents to archive many, if not all.
