I went to his place in Varney (Pirate's Hideaway) the other day and noticed all his items that he had out for sale were gone. I know he takes long trips sometimes and extended vacations from SL so i'm hoping this is just another one of them.

Based on a conversation that Ale had with a fellow officer in my group, the time Ale was devoting to SL was negatively impacting his RL, and therefore he has decided to take a leave of absence from SL for an indefinate period of time, possibly permanantly. :(

Ale has sold his Varney land, including the Pirate's Hideaway, to my group. No worries though- the Hideaway will be preserved, as it is far too beautiful a place. :)

I also spoke with Ale. He is on break for at least a month. He may be back, possibly on a completely new player. He seemed genuinely sad about having to give this up for a while.

Varney is under Preservation Society watch - we try and see if we can get land to transition to good owners to keep our sim friendly and nice looking. (subjective term, i know)

In any event, Ale is a huge loss for SL... he was a great neighbor, a very friendly fellow, and a talented designer.

Gee I love Core preservation. We should do more; but it does start getting expensive in the end. The Pirates Hideaway is a wonderful place to wander around. That poor mountain has really been through the mill over the past two years. I'm glad to see it so well used today.

Glad you're keeping it. It was one of the first places I went to check out when I started almost a year ago as it was one of the Linden Top Picks. I liked going there and visiting Ale. He's a great guy.
