I can't believe I forgot to post this yesterday, but I wanted to publicly acknowledge something very cool that MaryJane Sunshine did. We have been neighbors for a long time in Mavericks - her little house sat at the end of the road by the water. Yesterday I received an IM from her asking if I wanted her plot of land since she was moving. I told her that I did and asked how much she wanted for it. She refused to let me pay her for it - she sold it to me for $0. In a virtual world where greed seems to so often take hold, this was a very cool gesture.

On a belated note, I wanted to thank Edkc56 Gardner also, since it has a Mavericks connection lol. A long long long time ago - circa January 2004 when Mavericks was up for auction, the evil land baron Edkc56 Gardner was going to start bidding up Mavericks. I asked him not to bid, as I was trying to get a large amount of land in Mavericks for use, and he agreed if I would give him some land in Federal (yep, we colluded!). Edkc56 got a plot in Federal in front of Club Elite, I got Mavericks, and we were both happy. Out of the blue a week or so ago, he IMed me and told me he had marked the land for sale back to me for $1/m. Again, a classy thing to do - a long time ago I had asked him to sell it back to me if he ever left Federal, and he stayed true to his word.

Thank you to both of you for reminding me how cool people in SL can be - I was beginning to become a bit jaded by recent events.

Great post Cris! I must say it is so enlightening to hear of how honest and thoughtful people can be. I hope to see more post like this in the future. It is a nice, refreshing break from the rants.

Also, I would like to add...Cris, it is so easy to treat people the way they are treated. You are a classic example of this. You are one of the most giving residents of SL. I'm glad to see you get back a little.

i'm glad that all worked out for you cris. it's nice to hear that projects are coming together and people are being friendly and supportive in second life.

mj sold me my first real plot of land in olive to build the original fate park. later she gave me an adjacent lot to make it larger. she was a wonderful neighbor always popping over to encourage my latest, then pretty crude, efforts in plant building. and then one time, oh i promised to not tell that story. i accidentally sold the land back to her for nothing when i moved; but she paid me for it anyway so i could afford a lot in taber. i should fly over to jessie and wave.

I think what you are seeing as good will is really just the the result of devaluated land prices in Mavericks due to your PRIM HAIR.

Actually 'tis probably the result of the big pimpin yacht I put in lol - the thing sits on 2000m of land. BTW, your forum avatar still disturbs me.
