Hello everyone!

I know I have not made an announcement for some time, but that's because I've been hiding in Kumori creating a whole new experience for the SL user!

secondlife://Kumori/29/219/24/

What is Kumori?

There are no "games" to play here...
There are no "events" being held here...
There are events that occur randomly...
There are things that must be discovered in order to see the island in its entirity...
There are things to keep you occupied other than walking around...
But these are all things you must discover for yourself.

Kumori is mainly a place to experience a metaverse that explores as many senses as we are currently able with SecondLife mechanics.

There are a great many things under construction, many things are incomplete, and many details are yet to be added, but we are opening our doors for one week to get feedback on our current progress. After this week, we will close our doors again and begin to add story to the island which we hope that you the visitors will help us develop as time goes on. We will open one month later with as much content as we are able :D

For more information, keep your eye on the SL Parks and Recreation Service website for press releases, photos, and announcements on progress and changes!

Thanks and enjoy Kumori!

It's lovely as ever. My big head got stuck under a ladder but it didn't make me cry. I was very brave.

*pokes around the sim*
can I bribe the mine guard?

Not really the right forum, moving to Notices and Wellwishes (was in general).

hehehe you could bribe the mine guard but it wouldn't do you much good :D

As an example of what is going to happen with Kumori, the mines won't be added until later, and there will be a reason that the mines reopen that goes along with the lore of the island. We are hoping that residents will give us input on what they perceive the island's lore to be. That way we can incorporate resident ideas into the evolution of the island :D Though not currently available to its full extent, there will be a blog that residents can read and add to for that very purpose :D

Thanks for the scootch Strife ;) Glad you got to poke around!

Have you made it around the sim yet Khamon? *g*

I sent feedback via the form you get when clicking on the signs on the island. I was a bit detailed, and I didn't want to spoil things in the forums for anyone who hasn't gone yet. If you would like me to PM you or email me directly, just let me know.

OMGOMG, Kumori, I missed it so much! (Trivia: it used to be a sim neighbor in the island group with FairChang and Montmartre-my then SL home-before Higbee started developing in sekrit.)

And missed you too, Higbee! Welcome back!

Looks great! Left some feedback, but one point might be of general interest. I noticed a surprisingly good client framerate (approx 25FPS) considering that my avatar was wandering through a vast expanse of many different alpha textures: your wonderful trees.

On my current full-sim jobsite we're doing some streamlining to bring up the framerate in a huge wilderness area, and we're wondering if our swaying linden trees are loading the client too much. Maybe static non-linden trees would give better performance. I'd hate to give up that natural looking forest though.....

Thank you everyone who has sent in feedback! It is most helpful and will benefit the project immensely! It's only open until Monday, so be sure to stop by and drop us a line :D

And to answer your question Traxx... that's exactly why I got rid of the linden trees.. they lag the client unfortunately :( Even when I just put them here and there. Personally I also had a problem with their look from a distance because of the way fractals work, but that's just me.

If you like Numbakulla and Lost Gardens of Apollo you'll really enjoy Kumori! Highly recommended.
