The removal of PvP from the client, while reducing Abuse Reports, also takes away what little capacity we had to know who's attacking us. So I propose the addition of a Push Event to the scripting engine. This function would trigger on llPushObject events, and return the key of the pushing task. With detection functions for push strength, vector, etc.

Supposedly they will re-add pvp in a later version, with better security and control functions. But this function would be nice for when PvP doesn't work.

While we're at it, can we go ahead and implement a SUMMON GIANT ROBOT function to deal with pushers, too?

Hiyas,

I just wanted to mention that this topic came up during the Views meeting and that this feature will be returning. =)

I know. But we really could use detection in scripting.

It seems to me like the Lindens must have been very certain of what they were doing before they removed "view pvp". Given that they're that certain, and that they plan to reintroduce it as soon as it's fixed, I doubt us complaining will do anything about it, as they seem to have clearly made up their minds already.

Sorry to ask, but what does PvP actually mean? I've searched the site and the forum but couldn't find an explanation for this acronym.

Player versus Player abuse. Bumping avatars or pushing ech other with scripts.

Thanks. I knew it had something to do with abuse.

That would have been helpful, the first time I logged in. I was at a freebies store and got orbited to 70.000 meters. I only found back by teleporting and never found out, who it was, because there were a dozen people around.
