When I checked my email this morning, I had an offline message stating that the ROAM service from Wet Ikon had been discontinued, and was giving a refund for the remaining credit I had on the subscription I purchased. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Francis and Rathe, not only for having the class to refund the money (I had long forgotten about it), but for having created ROAM in the first place. Every so often, someone creates something in SL that pushes the boundaries of what we think is possible, something they have done over and over. Francis and Rathe are two of the most innovative people in SL, and the ROAM service was a reflection of that. While I would not trade the changes that P2P have brought about for anything, I am still a little sad to see the death of a device that I loved so much. Thank you for the short, very cool life of ROAM I look forward to seeing what you do next.

Thanks Cristiano Rathe and I were just reminiscing about the whole thing last night. We had such grande visions about how the what we could do, and what we would make real. It was all so much larger than just a better way to travel. It was fun while we lasted, it was a real pleasure working with Rathe, I think we both come from rather different, but strong technical backgrounds. When you have strong-willed technical people working together, you always expect arguments, but surprisingly, we never argued about the code. That part was easy for us. I think it was that our experiences complemented, rather than duplicating each others. It all seems so silly looking back, you wouldn't believe how many hours we spent arguing about names, and logos. I think we really did lay down the foundations of something that could've been really big. I guess that's the risk you take when your dreams are too ambitious Cheers,
