I can't quite believe it, but I'm marking my first year in SL today! A year ago today, I did a Google search looking for interesting online games, found this strange and unusual sounding thing called Second Life, and decided to give it a try.... and the rest is history! I still can remember the little thrills of being brand new: seeing my av's face for the first time, discovering that I could fly, wandering around and being amazed at all the buildings and the varied landscape. There's so much that's possible here, and after a year, I'm still only scratching the surface of what I can do... I have so much more to learn. I'm really looking forward to what the next year will bring. Without a doubt, the best thing, the biggest treasure I've found here, has been the fascinating people I've met, and the good friends I've made... those who are closest to me I consider my family here in SL. They've been with me through good times and bad, through long philosophical discussions and crazy goofiness and countless new experiences, and I wouldn't give them up for anything. I adore you all-- you know who you are.  Anyway, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to Second Life and to all the people I've met here for the wild ride I've had so far... it might sound corny, but this place has enriched my real life in so many ways! I'm still discovering how much can be done and how much *I* can do.... I'm really eager to find out where things go from here. To quote the Grateful Dead, what a long, strange trip it's been.... and it's only just getting started. Thanks so much, SL, for everything... and big hugs and many, many thanks to my family here. Party! Woot!
