As I sit here today readling the forums I feel nothing but contempt

BUT

As I sit here on my land all I think about is the possiblies.....

I am sorry you have contempt for me. I have nothing but good feelings and best wishes for you.

I am at work and there's a Latino Festival going on next door and they are all coming into my building to use the restrooms and they look so happy and free with their families and the music. It makes me proud to be a part of a country that lets them celebrate their heritage as part of a festivities of the Fourth.

Later there will be fireworks. And no matter how many times I see them, I still go Aaaahh and Oooohh, like a little child.

It makes me realize that while there are some bad parts to this country and to the world in general, there's a lot of good and sometimes it's nice to sit back and look at it and go...

Aaahhhh and Ooohhhhh!

But I am a part of the forums and when you say nothing but contempt, that doesn't leave any room for me does it. I just want you to know how your words sometimes make me feel. I am sorry if I am doing anything wrong, but I want to be honest.

Sounds to me like your trying to start an arguement.

If you feel that this applies to you then it does.

I said what I had to say. And because I have nothing left but contempt for the fourms I guess I have nothing further to say

I was expressing my honest feelings. There are good people here. There's Coco and Claire and a whole bunch more.

When you say you have contempt for the whole forum, doesn't it include us?

I don't see why you think I'm starting an argument. Again, it could be my OCD kicking in with a bit of ADHD. But I am opening my heart to you and my arms and telling you what your words say to me. Again, I think my perception is skewed somehow because I'm not seeing everything you see.

But if you see an argument in my words, if you honestly can tell me there's an argument because your contempt for the forum hurts me, then I will leave the forums and I won't come back.

I do not have contempt for every individual. I have contempt for the way the forums are run

Now im going to shut up before I get banned from SL.

Believe me, your perception *is* skewed. In this instance, anyway. You are taking a general comment personally, as you did with my postings too.

I haven't seen anybody attacking you in any way on these forums; I know I wasn't. Had I not received private messages from you I would have taken your postings here as Catherine took them - as deliberately disingenuous. Now I know they are not; that they are expressing a genuine unease.

I know that we shouldn't generalise, but we all do; if a woman complains to me about the behaviour of men, I don't immediately assume that she means me, even though I am one.

Yes, you are part of the forums, as I am, as Catherine is, as Chip and Darko are, as Jeska is, as all the multifarious people who go to make up the virtual world we inhabit. But when I complain about the standards of behaviour that apply here, I am not criticising any of those people specifically.

Please relax. I would be upset if you were to leave the forums, as I am sure would be Catherine. Just sit back, kick off your shoes and enjoy the more positive threads or, indeed, start a few more yourself.

April, it is joy to have you on the forums. Neither Catherine nor Selador want you to leave, or have ill feelings towards you. I do not think *anyone* on the forums does. I just want to reasure you of that. You are very welcome here and we are happy to have you! You bring a ray of lightness and a child's approach to the world. I know this is because of your OCD, but it is helpful for those of us who do not have such a condition to learn from those who do. It makes us stronger better people because you are around to speak your mind and remind us that not everyone views even "common" ideas and words the same way.

Anytime you need a hug, or to be reassured that you are welcome here, just let me know. Or tell us all as you have been doing. You deserve *BIG HUGS*!
