Friends list problem

For a couple of days now (can't pinpoint exactly when) my friends list has been showing that none of my folks are online, though when I go to the webpage, it shows several. If I IM them, they are indeed online. Also, they are telling me that I am not showing online to them.

I am current in my account, so I don't think that's the problem Any idea how to fix this or is this a grid-wide bug that I haven't heard about?

Edit: A few others i've spoke to have the same problem and apparently if you IM someone, they will then show up on your friends list. I really hope this isn't the way they are introducing privacy lol

That sounds buggy to me, Jeannette--like online/offline statuses aren't being detected right. No, it's not how we're introducing privacy. It's not just you either, as you know. I've had similar problems, including one where a lot of people who weren't logged in were showing on Friends Online!

If this is still happening to you inworld, please ask a Linden Liaison from HELP menu ---> LIVE HELP about it. What can then be acquired is help from the gridmonkey (a developer helping take care of the grid on a weekly rotation) to "unwedge" these bits and set the record straight.
