In the case that your AV is fored to make a fraudulent transaction of L$ to another's AV because of a mailcious, thieving scripts placed in an object you own, will Linden Labs recredit the stolen L$.

In my case I was sold a camping chair. I was the owner. I was under the impression that only the owner can manipulate an object to make it pay. However, the creator of the object was able to log on with his/her AV when I was not online and, through a backdoor script in the camping chair he sold me, was able to drain my AV of all his L$.

Clearly this was theft. I bought the camping chair with the understanding that it would pay AVs who sat on it a certain amount per a certain interval that I would determine. I did not consent to let the creator take all my lindens through the scripting in the object.

I am trying to be patient wile Linde Staff investigates, but I am expecting a full refund. Also, unless the AV used a third party currency exchange, he could not have sold my L$ and transfered out any USD in time, since I caught the theft the smae day that it hapened. So there really should be no problem with where the refund is coming from. May I please have my L$ back?

Midas, not having all the facts at hand, I can't speak specifically--the Lindens who will investigate it thoroughly would be able to confirm best in your case.

From the Community Standards, this is our general policy:
Buyer Beware
Linden Lab does not exercise editorial control over the content of Second Life, and will make no specific efforts to review the textures, objects, sounds or other content created within Second Life. Additionally, Linden Lab does not certify or endorse the operation of in-world games, vending machines, or retail locations; refunds must be requested from the owners of these objects.
However, to be clear on this: fraud isn't allowed. It hurts us, and it hurts our honest Residents. I do know of historical accounts where L$ was returned to its rightful owner before a scammer tried to cash out.

Hopefully it'll be found out what exactly happened to you and it'll be resolved for the best. So unfortunate to hear about it either way. :(
