Lindens,

I've been having trouble finding good viewpoints with the camera controls, specifically when I can't a good long-range shot, like in a small room or someplace with tree cover. Usually all I get is a close-up of the back of my av's head or a wall, and using Mouselook close-up is like looking at the SL through a straw!

Is there a way to make walls or even my av transparent to the camera? Or is there a way to make the mini-map more detailed to show corridors and rooms etc. instead of just outlines?

Thanks,

Darien, I use a ninja-eqsue combo of VIEW ---> CAMERA CONTROLS as well as holding down the left mouse button and modifier keys ALT, ALT+CTRL, and ALT+CTRL-SHIFT in conjunction with using my mouse's scrollwheel to get better angles for all those pictures I take. Easier shown than described, but once practiced, you will feel far more nimble and efficient.

You may also find VIEW ---> ZOOM IN/OUT to be beneficial for certain angles.

Also, when you are in Mouselook, go to PREFERENCES ---> ADV. GRAPHICS ---> and uncheck SHOW AVATAR IN MOUSELOOK. You will not see yourself in Mouselook.

The Mini-Map lacks detail, but you can right-click on it and select ZOOM CLOSE. A little known trick.

Happy camscanning!
