Using CopyBot to copy to your own PC for any reason is fine. Placing it BACK into SL is not. So your Machima example is irrleivant.
The simple fact that LL refuses to acknowledge this problem to it's ture extent has made RL news. Check out CBC and ZedNet amoung others. LLis becoming a laughing stock. Somethign I imagine your precious investors are looking at.
LL can not prevent the copying of items. LL could prevent the data transfer BACK into SL. LL could also use the "!quit" command to be sent automatically to every avatar unpon login and prevent the whole thign in the first place.
If that fails, I'm sure there are a multitude of other options.
If you don't think it's serious go do a SEARCH under PLACES for "closed".
LL is losing it's economy which provides a reason for Residents to spend USD here which gives LL a profit.
Still think it's no big deal?
