Why? An explanation would be nice? Just wondering since LL says this is supposed to be their main form of two way communication, obviously this is a topic people might like to ask questions about. I'm pretty sure a while ago someone from LL said that comments are always supposed to be on....

Anyway, what about the 2nd question in my post?

In the meantime...

I havn't been in-world, but has there been some type of in-world global announcement made concerning this? Many people don't read the blogs or forums for that matter, they've only heard about this "great product" and are using it without knowing LL's stance.

It would be nice if LL could publish some kind of Blog policy so we knew why certain blog entries are no comment. I personally was under the impression that the "great thing" about the blog was that we would be able to comment as opposed to the way the Linden Announcements forum is handled. Please come up with a consistent policy and let us know what it is.

In this case there are already some very active blog comment threads on the topic. In an effort to keep the discussion in fewer places, and thus at least somewhat followable, this announcement was left closed to comments. Please feel free to continue to comment on the other related blog posts.

As you are aware, recent blog headlines do in fact show up at the login screen and are arguably more visible than the message of the day. I do not know of any other global announcements that have been made about this.
