But on the whole issue of updates, I think everyone is fed up of weekly updates that are trivial at best and take down the ENTIRE grid, I see no advantage to this update, and the change in the announcement (which doesn't even mention an update in its title, no-one I know knew there was going to BE an update today!) is a change to registrations, which shouldn't require the entire grid to be deactivated while people are in the middle of things they were expecting to be able to do for the entire day!
It's getting really frustrating that this happens so frequently, and I've not seen any useful advantage to it
Can't these things just get lumped into less regular or optional updates for a change? And leave grid changing updates to be less frequent unless they are ABSOLUTELY necessary. If they are absolutely necessary, then please to God tell us with some more advance warning and tell us WHY it's necessary, I really don't care about removing the PvP abuse system, since when was that release worthy anyway?
And if you're going to take the main grid down, at least have preview working so that people who were working on things might still get work done
It doesn't even say when the update will be finished! LL's update policy sorely needs to be looked at by someone who isn't blind please, because people aren't paying money to get kicked off for unknown length of time, for an unknown reason, when LL clearly knows what's being done because it's their update.
