Hi all,
Some people will, in their need for attention, wear big annoying attachments, use scripts which bother others, or play sounds all the time. Ofcourse I understand that everything which is annoying, bothering or deafening to me, do not necessarily has to be to others.
However, could it be made possible to have like an extended muting option? At the moment I can only mute ppl for their speech, but in some cases I'd rather not see their attachments, notice their scripts or hear their sounds as well.
For example, someone who is typing out fascistic language I can mute, but they can play sounds of the man with the little mustache which I can only not hear when I chose to mute all of my audio.
Hope to hear from you, Doreen

Hello Doreen! What you mentioned is fresh on my mind. It's brought up several times recently, notably at a recent Community Roundtable Meeting, which Resi Frans Charming blogged more about here. It makes sense--what you describe is a TRUE MUTE. It's been a question for a long time, "I can block out someone's text--but why not the sounds they play?" Further mute extensibility is being investigated--on a sidenote, you may have noticed that teleport offers currently don't get muted--but to make someone's avatar invisible to you would require some fancier works, and perhaps, as Taco Rubio suggests as channelled in that blog entry, a way to be notified when a muted person is in the same sim as you. Please feel free to use these SL Forums to discuss further! I also emphasize that, if someone is being intolerant in SL, that's not allowed as it says in the Community Standards, muted or not, and in addition to muting them, you should also send an abuse report from the HELP menu. Have a good one.
