I happen to be interested in heraldry/family crests

Linden Lab is not directly named for a person or family.
The name actually comes from the street (in San Francisco) that the first office, or Lab, was located. We have since moved multiple times. I am not sure where the street name actually comes from, though I have heard it may be based on the linden tree.
