I've only noticed this using notecards so far.

New way:
1. Every notecard has a unique key if edited and saved. Even blank.
2. Blank notecard initially have an inventory key of NULL.
3. If you try to re-edit a blank notecard that was edited before and saved, it just displays Loading..... but never can be edited. (BUG)

Old way:
1. Every notecard had a unique key, even blank ones.
2. Only way to get a NULL key notecard if the notecard didn't have full permissions or did not exist in inventory.
3. Blank notecard could be edited even saved as blank.

What troubles me that how is a scripter supposed to prepare for something like this? I do understand bugs they cannot be foreseen. But functional upgrades as in changing how inventory is handle should be announced in some shape or form. I have been burned several times in these sudden functional changes. I will be spending all night handling upgrades to products effected because of this.

I have not filed a bug report yet because I was trying to figure out the bug and why certain script were not working late last night. I'll send one over when I'm off of my RL work.

Can you tell me if there will be anything done to improve communications in how these functional changes be relayed to the SL public?

(It would be nice to at least get a acknowlegement of my question if it can't be answered at this time. Nobody likes talking to a brick wall.)

Toneless, breaking content is *awful* and some of our developers are already aware of making blog posts to explain changes to future functionality, re: "improving communications". Especially when it causes problems like this for you. :\ Documenting processes is *so* important. So thanks in advance for filing a bug report, and just wanted to let you know your question is acknowledged.

I'd also recommend contacting Milo Linden in our Quality Assurance Team, please send him an IM--he's great and very astute about changes in behavior like this, and happy to help you figure out what's going on.
