I read the blogs and the responses...
Are you seriously going to remove the forums where you get questions answered? I hope that I am misinformed in this situation because that makes absolutely no sense.
Your Wiki (except maybe scripting), Second Life help and the so called Knowledge Base are no substitutes. Your documentation is marginal at best, incomplete and even wrong sometimes. You create new features at will, make changes in interface and do not tell anyone about it except in the most cursory ways. Release notes, yikes.
Blogs. Most people love them. I hate them. One way conversations. You lead and I can respond but you do not have to reply. Is that what you want?
I am involved in over 2 dozen professional forums for the myriad applications and technology I use and I am interested in. None of them have or are willing to throw in towel. When they got bad they moderated. Often moderated by the most prolific and calm of the forum users. If you need an example look at CGSociety.
This will not only hurt current users but who will suffer most will be new users. And you will suffer too as Second Life will be such an unforgiving and overwhelming experience that most will simply give up and go away.
