Questions of broad interest to the community. For example, asking about a policy clarification, or bringing an important issue to our attention which slipped through the cracks. It's a great idea to read previous Q&A to get a better feel. Before you post, ask yourself: "Would it benefit the Second Life experience for many?"
Yes. This certainly fits the bill. While embarrassing for LL to have this out in the open, and god knows I tried to communicate with you on private channels, the refusal to answer my e-mails leave me no other choice than to post this here. Sorry for embarrassing you, but I want an answer. I deserve an answer. I need one.
------------------------------------
I was a victim of a rather unfortunate case of abuse a while back. I filed a report. I got the automated comfirmation on December 3rd.
After asking on live help about where to supply additional information after the report had been sent, they told me to send a reply to the automated confirmation e-mail. I sent two e-mail additions on December 3rd. I have not received any indication that these have been received, read or taken into account.
December 13th, I get another automated message. "Abuse Report Resolved" it said. No mention of my additional e-mails. No answer to my questions. Now I know you don't answer questions about what punishments you hand out against specific individuals, but apparently you answer no questions at all, about anything. You didn't even tell me that you don't answer questions. You just gave me the silent treatment.
I have since sent AT LEAST THREE more e-mails, to the correct e-mail adresses. Your reply? A copy of the automated "Abuse Report Resolved" message.
I want confirmation that my e-mails have been read. I want confirmation that they were taken into account during the process of declaring this "resolved". I want the questions in the e-mails answered. I'll even settle for a "shut up, we don't care about you or your report", because at least it would be a reply, and I could deal and move on!
We are going on a month here now, and I have yet to hear ONE word written by a human being. I have poured my heart out into those damn letters, and you haven't bothered to to even tell me you got them. So here are the "Questions of broad interest to the community":
1) "If you have any further questions, please send them to abuse-manager@lindenlab.com" - Do you answer these questions at all?
2) How long can a victim expect to wait before you answer these very urgent questions, if in fact you do answer?
3) Do you in fact read all the supplied information, that arrive via e-mail to complement the initial abuse report? Why don't you send confirmations that such e-mails have arrived?
4) Does Linden Labs consider it proper to handle abuse reports from violated and hurt individuals this way?
I'll just finish this by quoting my last message:
I'm not going away, no matter how hard you try, until someone sits his or her ass down, reads the mails I have sent, and replies to them - all of them, with the original messages quoted.
So far, my experience with LL's abuse department is the saddest one I've had in dealing with any abuse department for any game, isp or other online service to this date...

My feelings of anger, frustration and disappointment are beyond words.

EDIT:
I notice none of my questions were actually answered, and nothing was done about the issue I have in the first place, and again, I wasn't even told to go away.
Well, as long as the e-mails tell me to send e-mails to an adressif I have further questions - I will. Some day I'll get an answer, or a back listing.
