Like many others, I am sick and fed up of wading through mountains of inappropriate entries on the events calendar. Many of these offending non-events aren't even simply breaking the "must be hosted" rule, and are multiple spams and inappropriate events too.

Would it really be so difficult to add a "Report for Linden review" button to the events calendar, with a 'reason' button, so that you can be notified of events which we consider should not be there, and take the appropriate action if necessary.

Such a move is essential for hosting legitimate events to have any potential for success.

Putting a button in there is easy, Lewis. But the stuff behind it has to be worked out for a better long-term approach. As you know, that isn't the only problem with the Events listing. Better search tools are sorely needed, as are reminders which could ping you if you're offline and such.

To that end, it'd be good in the future to have an overhaul of the Events which is more compatible with its website listing. Doesn't look like this will come soon because of all the other social projects in the works AND better abuse reporting tools (yes, "Include chat history" doesn't work), but if you have a clear and defined idea of how this should work, please rally community support as a Feature Vote Proposal!
