Drag and drop on one own avatar

Hello,
I can drag and drop a folder on my avatar, that way I will wear what is inside that folder and detatch/remove everything else that I was wearing (attachments or clothes).

That is great to change full AVies, however nowadays many items are composed of multiple pieces: think about prim shoes, there is a shoes base (a clothing item) and two or more attachments (objects). When I want to wear a new pair of shoes, I have to manually wear each item.

I was wondering if I am missing something: maybe there is a way to drag and drop stuff and only replace items? A key combination? Maybe I can multi-select in the inventory and press some keystrokes? ... A vodoo enchanting that I can mumble while dragging and dropping? :p

If there isn't, please Lindens note that there are no fully "safe" ways to wear stuff:
  1. drag and drop: if you miss the avatar (maybe a sudden animation kicking in), you may end up dropping those items into the some object's inventory.
  2. Context menu: 'wear' is tactically places just above 'delete', so things can end up in your trash instead of your body.

Kitten! 1.9 does provide some relief in this department: you will see a FULL list of all attachments and where they are attached to under the EDIT menu.

Also, when wearing an attachment to a slot that's taken up by something else, you'll now get a confirmation message so it isn't replaced without warning.

Give it a spin for yourself, Preview 1.9. :)

While understated, I know what a pain in the ass this has been for many.

What you describe exactly hasn't been implemented yet--but like general multiple drag-'n'-drop (which was introduced not too long ago), I wouldn't let go of hope! I agree with your #1 and #2 but have only seen scattered reports throughout the ages, not a more focused beam. If you were to create a Feature Vote along with a corresponding thread in Feature Suggestions and rally everyone who wants them too, that will be a big boon. Let me know too if you do it!
