Okay, I can't claim to be hugely surprised by "major exploits" introduced by yet another barely tested update but this is slowly getting to the point where i'm seriously questioning if SL will survive for much longer. The SL experience is steadily getting worse and on top of that we can pretty much count on new inexplicable bugs with each update.
QA is not exactly rocket science. A developer tests whatever it is they changed/added/fixed using all available methods (unit testing, wcs testing etc.), LL QA tests all change notes (which means you actually have to have all the changes in the notes!) and then let it drift for a week or 3 on the preview server. Granted, a slightly oversimplified view of things, but i happen to know quite a lot about quality assurance and 80% of these issues can be avoided without too much of an effort. Oh and to pull out another little cliche : if it aint broken, dont fix it.
P.S. Can we perhaps opt for an update window in the middle of US peak time for a change rather than always shafting us europeans. Thanks.
