Just a comment about one part of the Changes to Land Auction Delivery.

From: someone

Second, the Resident's new total square meter commitment (including the newly won auction land) will be used to determine if the Resident needs to be moved into a new tier. If a new tier is required, the Resident will automatically be moved to the new tier level.

Lastly, the parcel associated with the won auction will be transferred immediately to the new owner. The owner is no longer required to go in-world and purchase the land for L$ 0.

While immediate billing makes a lot of sense, immediate transfer has several negative consequences.

The worst consequence--as I see it-- is that it doesn't allow the land to be bought for a group.

If the land is automatically transferred to an individual, then the individual could be hit with a much larger tier increase than would have occurred if the land could have been bought for the group.

For example, what if an individual is buying a sim for a group of 4 people, each of which will contribute 1/4 sim tier?

Under the old system, each player would contribute 1/4 sim tier to the group. Then, one person buys the sim for the group. No player has to pay more than 1/4 sim tier.

Under the new system, the player who buys the sim gets automatically raised to 1 sim tier before they even have a chance to transfer it to the group.

And theoretically it could be worse than that. If a person owned 1536m2 and then bought a sim for a group, I think it could raise that person's tier to 1.5 sims.

Anyway, I just wanted to point this out in case it hadn't been considered.

Thanks! --Shack

Shack Dougall, I appreciate your concern, but all we are doing is automating the process you would have to follow anyway. Granted, the timing of land transfers may not be as convenient to certain individuals who are purchasing with the intent to give the land to a group. However, we feel that for the vast majority of buyers, this new process will be much simpler.
