In fact, one cannot do *anything* on the new wordpress-hosted blog unless you agree to create a blog on their site. You cannot change your password. You cannot comment on official blog postings. You cannot change your displayed screen name (nickname). Nothing. Nada. Zip. Do not pass go. Do do anything at all on our site, you must first give us a crapload of information and require at least two-rounds of email-based authentication that even LindenLab doesn't require any more for a griefing-ready account you can create in less than 3 minutes to cripple the entire grid and ruin the game experience of all the paying, loyal customers for 2 hours at a time. Several times a day.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. And even more sorry for the problems caused by the wordpress reg requirements. We'll take a look at the process tomorrow and fix it.
