Hi! Ah, used to be, until a recent update, I could send scripted vehicles (such as a train I'm testing) across parcels that were at their prim limit. There would be a grace time before they would be returned to 'lost and found.' As of the recent update, if they hit a full parcel - BAM! - returned. Now I can understand that the Company needs to protect its sims from temp-on-rezzers, exploits, and all manner of stuff like that, but... this? I've seen people running temp-on-rezzers and they seem to still function - technology specifically designed to get around prim limits. But my relatively harmless train is stopped cold. Net result is that I'm going to have to ensure there are always available prims across every possible patch of the train route I'm developing. Actually, I can do that - it will be very costly and a HUGE fuss working with dozens of residents in my sims, but in time I can. Is this my only option? I'm guessing the mainland is going to take a huge hit, when it comes to scripted vehicles being returned so instantaneously - my train is likely a drop in the bucket compared to the thousands of scripted vehicles out there that are now rather useless. So the question is: Is there *any* way to recover that grace period we had before, before the scripted vehicle entering a full parcel is returned? Our use is quite legitimate; we just want to easily run trains for all to enjoy. I'm hoping against hope that this is just a nightmarish bug that will go away. Is this the case? Warm Regards, - Desmond

From what I understood about the old system was that it didn't have a grace period for over-prim parcels, so much as the fact that it was so slow about tallying each parcel that the odds that it would actually catch momentary over-prim parcels was so small that the incidents where it did were considered minor glitches in the system.
The hard limit on prim limits is important for preventing one of the main problems with the old system which was the the ability to quickly rez far too many prims on a parcel before it got around to noticing it. So, some hard limit is absolutely necessary, however it might be possible to soften the limit by providing a grace period for some finite amount of prims over the limit, similar to how the temp-on-rez system works, which has a hard limit where deletion is agressive, below the limit is a 60 second lifespan.
I'm going to try to revisit the parcel prim accounting system soon for some other tweaks and will try to explore the possibility of providing some kind of grace period for a few extra prims. The main problem I foresee with the project is the amount of work it would take, if might be easy, but I know of some cruft that would have go be cleaned out in order for it to function, and that means it could be a real project rather than a quick fix. In any cas, the grace period would not be available for an unlimited amount of extra prims; there would have to be a hard limit at some point.
