ive recently come across a rumor that whatever we do in sl is monitored and/or recorded. it may be truthful or not, however i would like to know if it is. If it happens to be that secondlife is beeing monitored i would be reluctant to play further, not because i am misbehaveing, however i enjoy my right to privacy. please respond as soon as possible.

Hey Joker! Whenever you hear a rumor: please state the source, so I know who to talk to. I'll clarify this: yes, Linden Lab does keep track of info, including consensually-entered personal info, and our server logs which records what happen. For example, if someone rezzes 10,000 physical prims and crashes a region, we'll know they did it. We have a strict privacy policy; so we DON'T disclose. Your privacy will be retained! This isn't particular just to LL and SL either--many companies do it. Now, these records are needed for such things as resolving abuse cases, which includes but isn't limited to inworld griefing, fraud, and other instances in which factual evidence is required.
