I had autorenew on a classified ad. A 5000L classified ad.
I decided to turn it off before it renewed. So I went went in my profile, unchecked "autorenew" and hit OK.
Today I find my account 5000L lighter.
Apparently the change does not take effect unless you hit "Update" then "OK". You can't just hit OK.
Can I get a refund and the ad cancelled? I'll report this as a bug, because I'm probably not going to be the only one to run into this UI issue.
The ad was the one for my GinT game.
EDIT: Nicola Samiam's problem posted below is likely the same thing. She fell into the same trap of assuming OK should keep your settings, not throw them away.

Gigs, thanks for the additional info for the same problem Nicola experienced. I have a better understanding what's going on here; I don't know about a refund but I'd recommend contacting support@secondlife.com or call Support to investigate your particular circumstances... sorry I can't be of more help with that! But, I do agree the UI is confusing. It does give the initial pop-up message of needing to push "Publish..." when you first create your ad, but it'd be clearer to have a confirmation also appear if you click OK after making changes you intended to save--reminding you that there are unsaved changes and you should click Update. I found your ad: GinT, Compare to Tetris(tm)! - L$5001
is that the one? Please email me (torley@lindenlab.com) with the bug report # and any other pertinent details. I'll be sure it's all on the record.
