When does SL and LL intend to open the abuse system and make proceedings transparent?

Whilst I rarely agree with Prok, and I don't wholly this time, I do have a question that partially supports one of the oft repeated requests for that source.

When someone is "punished," (in whatever form that takes) - i.e. suspended, warned whatever, why is there name not on the police blotter?

I understand privacy in general, but despite some RL privacy laws in this country the names of convicted individuals are made publicly available. I assume, since I know the names of some US citizens who are convicted criminals, the same applies in your country. The person named in this way remains a citizen until they are permanently banned so if they are harrassed or subject to vigilante type activity they have recourse to law. If they can identify who complained and are stupid enough to harrass them, they're fast tracking themselves into no Second Life which will be good for us all.

I'm not in favour of the complainant being listed, nor the linden that made the decision being publicly listed... but someone that maliciously complains should be able to be disciplined too. But, why won't you tell us who had been convicted? SL is different in many ways to any RL country, but why won't you when most if not all countries do?

In the United States of America we are governed by a document called the Constitution. Within this Constitution is a clause, known as the Sixth Amendment, which declares that everyone is protected by the right to confront their accuser in a court of law.

The actions of Linden Lab in dealing with abuse reports and issuing punishment is in direct violation of this amendment and is infringing upon the rights of all Americans who participate in Second Life.

Allowing heresy and one-sided opinions/complaints to dictate the punishments of others is counter to the Sixth Amendment because we have no opportunity to defend ourselves. Attempts to reply to appeal at the abuse@ email address provided results in absolutely no response. Countless members have reported that after receiving warnings or punishments not only are their actual "crimes" hidden from them but attempts to discuss the issue are ignored.

Hiding the reason and reality of alleged violations protects no one's privacy except those with vendettas who enjoy running around abuse-reporting everyone they don't like. And Linden Lab is complicit in enabling this grief by hiding those who act thusly.

Last time I checked San Francisco, and California, were both still a part of the United States and thus governed by the Constitution. Or does Linden Lab feel that it is above this governing document that has guided our country and citizens for over two centuries?

So when does Linden Lab intend to allow total transparency with their punishment system, allow members to know what they're accused of and what the specific incident was (as is the case in nearly every other MMOG, every social group, club, charity, job, police issue, etc) and deal with punishments accordingly and correctly?
