I was wondering if a Linden could enlighten me here. I hope this is the right forum category for this question. I tracked the sun position for a full Sim Cycle, and realized that the sun's orbit (I'm assuming, in theory, this is how we would speak of it) is not fixed. Or at least it didn't reach the same .z position it started with. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not the orbit changes according to a specific pattern (and if so, tell me what that is) or if it is random, and if it begins anew after a grid-wide shutdown? This may save me a couple thousand years of observation :)

Thanks

Claudius, this is a veritable classic! I once asked this myself.

The details you seek about the sun's orbit are right here:
