Underage user gets only 14 day suspension?

I came across something in the police blotter that somewhat confused me with regards to appropriate action on the part of Lindens. An item from October 30 had a member admitting that they were underage, which is breaking the terms of service, which is fair. What I don't understand is the action against him/her: suspension for 14 days.

Unless the person has a birthday that brings them to the minimum age within 14 days, wouldn't a more appropriate response be banning the account entirely, or at least until the person reaches the appropriate age? Or will they be policed every 14 days and repeatedly banned until such point? I just do not understand a "punishment" that clearly enables the user to violate it again two weeks later.

Hi Karen,

What's not indicated by the blotter, but is standard practice is that underage accounts on MG are held for age verification. So after 14 days off, if they would like to return to SL they need to validate their age, at which point they can be moved to the teen grid.
